Basketball Break: The Meeting (Author - rhea ann)

“Takenori Akagi. The famous captain of Shohoku team. And with his loyalistant Kiminobu Kogure.” The man exclaimed in front of them. He’s tall and was with a bit smaller man. They were both smiling.

“Makoto Suichi! What are you doing here?” Takenori said to the tall man.

“Just hanging around. How are you? Too bad we didn’t meet during the district games. Anyway congratulations. Our first game was with Kainan so we were out of the game immediately but it was all right.” Makoto said smiling at the two.

Makoto Suichi is Nishi’s team captain. Their team was really good but they don’t shine that much during the games because Kainan beat them at their first game. If they were not with Kainan, they could have a match with Shohoku. Nishi, when compared with Shohoku, was the same or even better. Nishi five years ago was one of the top four in their district. But then Shoyo came in the picture. From that time on, Nishi was not recognized but still other basketball players think they are strong.

“Thanks.” Takenori replied quite flattered.

“Er—by the way, who was that pretty girl you are with? Your girlfriend?” Takenori went red. Even Kiminobu felt embarred.

“No. She’s a friend. Why interested?” Takenori replied.

“Well not really but I admit she’s beautiful. Who is she anyway?”

“Her name is Kiyo Shoshiro. She’s new here, just came from the States.” Takenori answered. After which, he felt pain at his right foot. Kiminobu stepped at Takenori’s foot murmuring…

“Why did you tell him? Sakuragi will kill us.” Takenori, realizing his mistake, readied himself to go now.

“We have to go now.”

“Wait, tell me more about her.” Makoto said stopping Takenori at his pace. Takenori don’t want Makoto to be following him so he formulated an idea.

“Alright. You want to know more about Kiyo, I’ll tell you something. If you’re interested with her you have to face Sakuragi Hanamichi first. You knew him, don’t you?” Takenori said nastily.

“Yes of course. That red headed monkey of course I knew him.” Makoto said immediately.

“Well that’s all I can say. Goodbye then.” Takenori said waving at him.

“Thanks Akagi!”
